How Often Should You Really Get a Facial?

Aug 6, 2026 · 1 min read

The honest answer isn't "once a year for your birthday." It also isn't "weekly" unless you have a specific reason to be in the chair that often. Here's how we actually think about it with clients.

The general rule: every 4–6 weeks

Your skin's cell turnover cycle runs roughly a month. A facial every four to six weeks lines up with that cycle — often enough to keep pores clear and product working, spaced out enough that your skin isn't in a constant state of recovery.

When more frequent visits make sense

  • You're actively treating something — acne, hyperpigmentation, texture — and working through a series
  • You have an event (wedding, big photos, a trip) and we're building toward a specific date
  • Your skin is oilier or more congested and benefits from more frequent extractions

When less frequent is fine

If your skin is stable, your home routine is solid, and you're mostly coming in to maintain — every six to eight weeks is completely reasonable. A facial isn't a subscription you fail by skipping a month.

The real answer

It depends on your skin, your goals, and your budget — in that order. Tell us what you're trying to solve and we'll build a schedule around it instead of a generic rule.

Not sure where to start? Book a facial and we'll map out a plan for your skin specifically.
